The Hadith (Inspired Sayings) of Muhammed

Sodomy [ All of the following quotes are from Fazlul Maulana ]

Here then is the modesty of Muhammed, the modesty of a man with a raging phallic complex: Al Hadis, Vol. 1, p. 680, No. 44, "When one of you comes to the privy, he shall not touch his penis with his right hand." Reported by Abu Qatada, Attested by agreement. In ancient times the custom was to keep the right hand clean because one ate and greeted with it, but the next Hadith shows that, in Muhammed's case, there was more to this than cultural cleanliness. Al Hadis, Same, p. 685, No. 65, "Whenever Muhammed passed urine he used to cleanse his penis." Reported by Hakam-b-Sufyan and Attested by Abu Daud and Nisai.

Al Hadis, Vol 1, p. 688, No. 236, Abul Juhaim-b-Hares reported, "I saw the Prophet when he was urinating. I saluted him, but he did not return the salute... He struck it (his penis) with a stick, rubbed his hands on the wall and then his face, and saluted me." Sharhi Sunnat. This shows that Muhammed was terrified of touching his organ. Ask any psychologist what this implies.

When Muhammed relieved himself it was a spiritual event. In Al Hadis, Vol. 1, p. 679, When Muhammed entered the privy he said, "O Allah, I seek refuge from male and female spirits." Reported by Anas, attested by agreement. We see that Muhammed feared being sexually molested by devils. There are several Hadith where Muhammed discussed male and female devils (incubi and succubi) molesting people in their sleep.

Regarding wiping one's bottom in the privy, Al Hadis, Vol. 1, p. 680-681, "Whoever cleanses (after elimination) with stones or collyrium, he shall use an odd number... and whoever comes to the privy, he shall conceal himself, even using a heap of sand, because the devil plays with the private parts of the children of Adam..." Reported by Abu Hurairah, Attested by Abu Daud and Ibn Majah.

Remember, to a Muslim, this Hadith is just as authoritative a revelation as the Bible or the Koran. To you who witness to Muslims, this is a good reason for never starting with the "scripture" of Islam to get a Muslim to listen to a Christian witness.

Do you see Muhammed's terror of his own sexuality? On page 682 in the above source he forbid cleansing oneself with bones because they are the food of devils.

To show clearly that this man had a fixation of guilt for his sexuality, Al Hadis, Vol. 1, p. 684, No. 63, Ayesha reported that when the Prophet came out of the privy, he used to say, "O Allah, grant thy forgiveness." Attested by Tirmizi and Ibn Majah. He saw in his natural God-given elimination processes, and in his sexual organs, sin and guilt which he could not avoid. Nowhere in the Bible does a godly man show any such terror or guilt for elimination.

Muhammed feared being seen by men when he was urinating, Al Hadis, Vol. 1, p. 685, Omar reported that the Prophet saw him standing while urinating and said, "O Omar, don't pass urine while standing, so I never again passed urine while standing." Attested by Tirmizi. Also, No. 69 on the same page, Ayesha reported (after Muhammed's death) "Whoever tells you that the Prophet passed urine while standing is lying to you..." Attested by Ahmed and Tirmizi.

It is interesting to note how the early Mullahs used Ayesha, wife of the Prophet of Allah, after the death of Muhammed. One gets a mental picture of several dirty-minded old Mullahs, sitting around an evening fire in Arabia, pumping Ayesha for the grossest details of her bedroom and bathroom experiences with Muhammed-- but only for the edification of the faithful, you understand.

Muslim friend, did the Mullahs tell you to carry a leather shingle? Al Hadis, Vol 1, p. 686, no. 74, Abdur Rahman-b-Hasannah reported, "the messenger of Allah came out to the privy with a leather shield in his hand. He put it down, took his seat, and urinated against it. We said, 'Look, the Prophet urinates just like a woman...' The Prophet said, 'Don't you know what happened to the ruler of Israel? When urine fell on their garments they used to cut it out with scissors, so the ruler of Israel prohibited them, and God punished him for it..." Attested by Abu Daud, Ibn Majah, and Abu Musa.

Three attestings at the end indicate that this is a major doctrine. The moral truth is, urine defiles a man, so either carry a leather shingle to urinate against, or cut out the parts of your clothes where urine splashes.

In spite of all of this male modesty, Muhammed permitted strangers to urinate against the inside wall of the mosque in Mecca, Al Hadis, Vol. 1, p. 390-391, No. 94-95. While he demanded cleansing from human urine and semen, he claimed that animal urine was harmless, and water from polluted wells was all right to use for cleansing ablutions, "Verily, water does not become impure." Al Hadis, Vol 3, p. 806, No. 206 and Vol. 1, p. 710, (141); p. 715 (159); p. 722 (245).

So, we conclude that his potty doctrine had to do, not with sanitation, as we might find in Leviticus in the Bible. Rather; it was a reflection of Muhammed's terror of his male organ and the natural elimination processes.

Al Hadis, Vol. 1, p. 686, No. 72, Abu Ayyub, Jaber and Anas reported that (during a mosque sermon) the Prophet read the verse from the Koran, 9:108, "...There is a mosque whose foundation was laid from the first day on piety... In it are men who love to be purified, and god loveth them who make themselves pure." In the congregation before him were some of the Ansars, and the Prophet asked them, "Allah praised you for your cleanliness. What is your (secret for) cleanliness?" The Ansars answered, "We make ablution for prayer, and we take a bath to make ablution for seminal emissions." The Prophet said, "It is this that (cleanses), so keep on doing this." Attested by Ibn Majah.

Muhammed required bathing after all emissions of semen, even involuntary night emissions. In Leviticus in the Bible, seminal emissions made a man unclean in the context of sanitation, not sexual dirtiness. To Muhammed, semen was evil because it reminded him of his powerful guilt produced by his raging sexual lust.

In the same source, p. 705, No. 124-125; Ayesha, the wife of Muhammed, goes into a very detailed discussion describing when a man is defiled by semen and at what point the penetration of the male organ defiles a woman. In the same source, p. 719, No. 168 she tells how she scraped dried semen off of the prophet's clothes.

You might like to know that Muhammed even thought that kissing would defile a person, as we see in Al Hadis, Vol. 2, p. 672 (385), "Verily, kissing belongs to touch, so make ablution for it." He fails to tell us if he means for men greeting men or just for husband and wife.

We now look at Muhammed's perfume doctrine in which Muhammed showed some rather feminine traits. Al Hadis, Vol. 1, p. 616-617, No. 54, Abu Hurairah reported that the Messenger of Allah said, "The perfume of a man is that which has a fragrance but it has no color. The perfume of a woman has a color, but it must not have an odor." Attested by Tirmizi and Nisai, while in the next Hadith, No. 55, Walid-b-Oqbah reported that the Messenger of Allah had a bag he carried from which he perfumed himself. Attested by Abu Daud.

To put this feminine zeal for perfume into context, perhaps we should look at Muhammed's strange and inconsistent way of showing affection for men as we read in Al Hadis, Vol. 1, No. 38, Anas reported that a man asked the prophet, "When a Muslim meets his brother how should he greet him? Should he nod his head?" "No" said the Prophet. "Should he embrace and kiss him?" "No" said the Prophet. "Should he take his hand and shake it?" "Yes" replied the Prophet. Attested by Tirmizi.

Now, that is very clear, but we note that the Prophet Muhammed didn't keep his own law, as is obvious in Al Hadis, Vol. 1, p. 579, No. 42, Ayesha reported, "Zaid-b-Haresah came to Medina while the Messenger of Allah was in my house. When he came to the door, the Prophet stood up with nothing on... and embraced and kissed him." Attested by Tirmizi. And in the same source, No. 44, Shabi reported that, "the Holy Prophet met Ja`far-b-Abi Taleb, embraced him and kissed him in the place between the eyes." Attested by Abu Daud.

I have seen pictures of Muslim men embracing with mouth to mouth kissing, and very affectionately. I know of no other culture that allows this. Strictly cultural, you say? Muhammed forbid it, but he personally indulged such intimacy.

Muhammed even drew Allah into his personal phobias as he showed in Al Hadis, Vol 1, p. 706, No. 130, Ya`la reported that the Messenger of Allah saw a naked man bathing in a field, so he ascended the pulpit (of the mosque) and said.... "Allah is bashful, keeper of secrets. He loves bashfulness and concealment. So when any of you takes a bath, he shall conceal himself (from Allah)." Attested by Aby Daud and Nisai.

In other words, Allah has also got a problem trying to keep his libido under control, so don't show your nakedness to Allah. Pagan religions tend to cast their gods in the image of fallen man.

This modesty of Allah is better understood as we read Al Hadis, Vol. 1, p. 494, No. 255, Abu Sayeed al-Khodri reported that the Messenger of Allah was much more bashful than the virgins within their head-veils. Attested by agreement.

Al Hadis, Vol. 4, p. 172, No. 34, Ali reported that the Apostle of Allah said, "There is in Paradise a market wherein there will be no buying or selling, but will consist of men and women. When a man desires a beauty, he will have intercourse with them." Attested by Tirmizi.

Young men are available for the sexual pleasure of the men in Paradise, and Muhammed saw no problem with this, indeed he looked forward to it. My contention is that Muhammed was tormented by sodomite sexual temptations this side of Paradise. There is no other explanation for his obsessive fear of his own sexuality, his feeling of sexual defilement by women, desire to smell sweet, and his elimination paranoia. None of these were culturally derived from the local Arab population of Mecca, NONE!!  The local Arabs found Muhammed's potty doctrines novel and confusing, nor were those doctrines derived from the Bible or Jews with whom Muhammed had come in contact.

How could he be both heterosexual and have sodomite fears? This is very common where men are driven mightily by lust. The result is that they have to avoid seeing the nakedness of other men because their lusts are inflamed by ANY sexual images, even the male organ.

They also struggle with temptations of masturbation, which need not cause great guilt, but, in their case, remind them of their fantasies and temptations. So, they are in terror of touching their own organ. Such was the experience of Muhammed, the Prophet of Haji Allah. Sigmund Freud would have found Muhammed an interesting case study.

Certainly, Muhammed is to be pitied, and I am NOT saying he overtly did sodomite acts, but he was a frustrated man whose libido was inflamed from dawn to dusk. According to Al Hadis, Vol. 2, p. 682-683, No. 106, Ayesha reported that the Prophet of Allah enquired as he was dying, "Where shall I pass tomorrow, where shall I pass tomorrow?" He was hoping it would be me (Ayesha), so his other wives gave him permission to use their turns so he could be with me (Ayesha) until he died. Attested by Bukhari. Muhammed's dying words were to enquire where he could satisfy his lust.  No Christian Apostle  or Old Testament Prophet ever went out of this life at this low level.
