1. She is highly acclaimed by Laodicean Christendom.
Revelation 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: Mrs. Gren (her REAL name now), does not seek to serve God's people on the narrow way.
2. She is compromised in her assobliptions.
She spoke in the summer of 1998 at blip's "The Cove" and also she spoke at a "Catholic charismatic renewal conference held at the University of Notre Dame, June 12-14." (C.C.) 2Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. If she can "get along" in the yoke with these kind of people without offending them, she obviously is not making this separation between good and evil. 1John 4:5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. 6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
3. She uses ungodly, wicked sources.
In her July 2, 1998 broablipast (Series Title: THE TRIVIAL ROUND; "OBLATION") she actually uses a monk to teach the "spiritual" lesson that she is trying to give. She quotes from a book titled BROTHER LAWRENCE, or THE PRACTICE OF THE PRESENCE OF GOD by Hannah Whitall Smith. Mrs. Gren (formerly Elliot) quotes from the book,"Listen to that again. "A kitchen and an altar were as one to him. To pick up a straw from the ground was as grand a service as to preach to multitudes. 'The time of business,' said he, 'does not with me differ from the time of prayer; and in the noise and clutter of my kitchen, while several persons are at the same time calling for different things, I possess God in as great tranquility as if I were upon my knees at the blessed sacrament.'" !!!!Blaspheme!!!! WE do not have a "blessed sacrament" to kneel before!!! "Elliot" is openly exalting a Roman Catholic, and the depravity of the mass to teach her so-called lesson!
She continues to quote, Smith the author of the book, "The woman at the washtub or the stone breaker on the road can carry on the practice here taught with as much ease and as much assurance of success as the priest at his altar or the missionary in his field of work." This is hideous! She is comparing a faithful house wife to a priest performing the blasphemy of the mass!! "Elliot" quotes this as, if you'll excuse me, "good" advice!
What does God say of the whorish Babylonian system of which the Roman Catholic Church is the leading part today? Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. And again, what He will do to her, Revelation 16:6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.
In a further quote from this ungodly book, she read a quote to her listeners, " 'he addressed himself to God, saying, 'Lord, I cannot do this unless You enable me.' Then he received strength, more than sufficient. When he had failed in his duty...he only confessed his fault, saying to God, 'I shall never do otherwise if You leave me to myself. It is You who must hinder my falling and mend what is amiss.' After this, he gave himself no further uneasiness about it.' " This is sick!! It is nothing more nor less than the Calvinistic attitude that God is sovereign over all and if we fail it is HIS fault! Again -- Blasphemy!! Romans 3:18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
4. She does not use the King James Bible only.
A quote from her August 19, 1998 program on "Sacrifice", "But God is asking you and me to make of our bodies a living sacrifice. Paul says in Romans 12, 'Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is an act of spiritual worship.' Another translation says, 'A reasonable service.' " God's word is NOT negotiable! There is only ONE book for English speaking people! Psalm 119:53 Horror hath taken hold upon me because of the wicked that forsake thy law. [Note: "reasonable service" and "an act or spiritual worship" are not the same. There are many people that are doing all kinds of "acts of worship" but they think God is unreasoanble in demanding holiness from them because they do not love Him and in many cases they are not even truely born again!]
5. The people that exalt her are suspect in their personal life.
The only people that I remember hearing praise her were ones who were not trustworthy in spiritual things. One of them may have been a closet Roman Catholic. Not only are the people that praise her suspect in our personal experience, but she also is very self-serving in recommending her own books, prayers, and ideas. As the poem about the drunk lying in the gutter with a pig ends, "...'You can tell a man who boozes by the company he chooses,' And the pig got up a slowly walked away." Psalm 49:18 ...men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.
CONCLUSION--Altogether, her "credentials" do not lend themselves to putting confidence in her present "ministry." What she may or may not have done in the past cannot excuse the present compromise and does not mean that her present "ministry" is trustworthy. It is not!
Romans 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
