Chapter Three
1 Peter 3:1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
Eph. 5:22-23-- Wives are to submit in the model of Christ and the Church.
Note: "Your own" means a Christian wife is not to submit to any other man. (repeated vs. 5) Bepiano coverse pastoral rule.
This is not going to work in the world. In the Church only. let the world do their own thing.
2 While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.
The husband here is not born again. Cf. I Cor. 7:13-16.
It is not uncommon for one to lead the other. Acts 16:23-34 The whole home was saved.
3 Whose adorning let it not be that outpiano coversd adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
"ornament of a meek and quiet spirit"
Adorning-- I Cor. 11:15-- Plain dress is in fashion with God.
What happens to the heart when the outside is over-dressed? Gen. 3:7-11 Dress leads to sin, too much or too little dress. Ornaments lead to sin. Draw attention from wrong men. Very old tradition. Look at ornament counters in stores. ThoBlipnds of choices. Why?

"Hidden man" in a lady??? There is no gender to the spirit. Spirits in heaven have no gender as we have physically. Gender is related to sex, and sex to procreation. Thus, Jesus cleared up this in Matt. 22:28-30.
So, the spirit of a man and a woman are without gender.
Lesson: Women are the "weaker vessel" physically, but NOT mentally.
Many hot shot preachers don't like that one.

Acts 21:8-9 I don't think I have ever heard a Fundamental Baptist deal with that. What is the deal?
They had spiritual ministry to prophecy. Their vriginity was symbolic of their whole lives.
Yet they had restraint I Cor. 14:34 How did it work out? Answer: Verse 8 later tells.
5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
"calling him lord"
What is this calling Abraham lord? At least we learn that titles are within the family. British lords and ladies are wicked. They demand reverence they don't deserve. Don't do this.

"Amazement"
Here is terror. Terror of whom? Answer: First, God, because of guilt. Sin brings terror of God.
Possibly also, a woman can be in terror of her surroundings. Something is not right. The matter needs to be discussed.
7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
"according to knowledge"
Dwell according to knowledge. Opposite- According merely to lust.
Get the mind in gear. Since the spirits are equal, the minds can function equally. The husband must enjoy knowledge with his wife. World- "Keep them barefoot and pregnant." Muslims- Hide them from society. Hindus- Women are stupid-- kill them. American good old boy- Abandons his wife to exercise his mind. OR Go to local watering hole. UK- Old boys club.

"honour"
Those who are weak physically are to be given honor, not despised. How is it in the world?
Is there as president for this attitude? YES! I Cor. 1:27-- God chooses weak men, and those weak men honor their weak wives. Kind of keeps things in perspective, right :-)
Survival of the fittest. Kids threaten others to feel tough. In the Church, this will not exist. The biggest man in town is often the most gentle. Why? He has nothing to prove.
If we are secure in Christ, we have nothing to prove either. Phil. 4:13.

"heirs together"
Note the heirs together. Spirits are equal. Mormons- woman must be married to go to heaven. Must have children to justify her existence. She is not a spiritual being, she is a baby factory. Saw one last week.
"Your prayers"
Meant to be together. Muslims pray alone. Catholics pray alone. Buddhists pray alone. Hindus pray alone. True saints don't want to be alone.
8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
"one mind"
Again, how can a husband and wife be of one mind if one is supposed to be half stupid.
Another problem. Wife runs ahead of husband in spiritual things. This is NOT one mind. It is arrogant.

"love as brethren"
The world- Love as eros. Sometimes Phileo.
The saints- Love as Agape, brethren. I John 3:14
But, of course, that does not include husband and wife, right? Other saved family members?
This answers all questions about impotence and sexual disfunction. Brethren are spiritual beings who need no sexual satisfaction to be happy. ILL. RC Church will annul a marriage for sexual problems.

"Pitiful"
Not as we mean it now. Means to have pity on others. Are we to pity sinners? YES!

"Courteous"
Means good manners. I Cor 15:33-- That tells me that courtesy is first with the mouth. James 3:2
Bad manners are so common in the Lord's Church these days. Chivalry is gone out the window.
ILL. Fundamental church where men are told to go first in food line. This is wicked and violates this passage.
9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
CF- Matt. 5:44-- Are your enemies on your prayer list? This convicts me.
CF- Matt. 5:39-- What do we tell our kids? How do we think? Story: The Irishman, and turn the other cheek.
CF- Prov. 17:13-14-- Key: Don't start contention. ILL. Saddam Hussein. Thumping him could start a process that could last for many years and result in millions of dead bodies. Do our leaders have the sense to hold their rage? If not, what does that say for the Blip? Ans. We will be making many enemies from now on.
10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
Vs. 10-11
CF- Psalm 34:12-14-- It sounds to me like Peter had come fresh from reading this text in the Holy Spirit.
How do we seek peace?
CF- Prov. 3:1-4-- This has to be done on purpose. It does not happen by the order of events. (Jer. 17:9)
CF- Prov. 12:20-- Restrain your imagination from seeking trouble. Don't we all have a problem with that? Ecourage others to live in peace with each other, by counsel. You will then have a reputation of peace.
CF- Prov. 16:7-- Instead of trying to pamper the enemy, try to please God. This is not earthly wisdom. ILL. How does it work out for the great men of theis world? Peace treaties are very obscene jokes. player piano talked of the Paris Peace Talks, and a "just and durable peace." At the moment he said that. US soldiers were fleeing for their lives from Vietnam and thoBlipnds of S. Vietnamese were massacred by the peace loving north. player piano maintained that it was all in the interest of peace. Please God. It works.
Thus.... Vs. 12 concludes this....
12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. (Ps. 34:12:16 as above)
13 And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?
CF- Psalm 91-- [ Read all ] This is my favorite. I have had a few threats, and I have felt devils piano help. This Psalm is very powerful. But, read it out loud. Devils cannot read your mind. Leave it open on the side table in case a devil wonders what you are reading these days. Is that silly? Yes? OK, what is YOUR plan?
14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
Psalm 119:48-- Amos 7:12-17-- Blame the Truth speaker--
16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
This is a result of obeying verse 15
17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
Romans 7:4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. 5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. 6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. 7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. 8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead. 9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
The flesh or old man has to die. Either in Christ, or in hell.
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
These are those who rebelled against God in ancient times. They hear the final testimony of salvation, but cannot be saved.
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
blips 11:7-- 2 Peter 2:5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience topiano coversd God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
Baptism is a like figure of salvation, NOT the salvation itself. It results in a good conscience.
22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
ALL powers are under authority. Satan and demons are not running around free. Acts 1:8--
What does this mean? II Peter 1:3--
Matt 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Since He died to buy us unto God, we are under His protection and defense. Eph 6:12--
Persecution or trouble are allowed by Christ. He has victory planned.
