A one hundred year
old stool is certainly a
thing to brag about.  
But, the stool is so
valuable that you will
groan every
time a guest sits on
the thing.
Also, contrary to what
many people suggest,
the hardware in a
100 year old
round top stool is not
necessarily better.  
New innovations have
been made in design
and in materials.  
The Jansen
round top stool is very
sturdy, which is
NOT the case with
antique stools.

Consider what could
happen if that antique
stool disintegrates

The claw feet are of a design
common to a sturdy type stool
from long ago.
Note the center pillar which
reaches down and provides
horizontal bracing.
Also, the claw feet are all brass.
The ball is brass also.
The glass ball is often sought,
but long ago, as well as now,
the brass ball was known to give
less trouble.

Why only three cups
in a set?

This is a 
Grand Piano thing.

If you bought four of
these for your upright,
the back two
would not be seen,
and the classy look is
not essential to simply
support a large
upright piano.

Also, you may need four cups for an upright or for a square grand. Some folks use them for heavy buffets and cabinets.

from Jansen's Factory to YOU without coming through our office.
