STAR AND CRESCENT

Please notice the crescent of a moon with the round star above it. The five pointed star is a modern innovation. The star is known in Babylon as Ishtar and Ashtart, and was known in Saba as Atar. The moon was Allat in Mecca, while the star was Al Uzza, a very local lady. These two goddesses are the origins of the star and crescent of Islam.

Allah was the solar deity, though that fact was not really on anyone's mind by the time Muhammed got his "revelations." Nevertheless; the ancient heritage of the astral deities was strictly Babylonian.
